10 December 2016 - Of the Octave of the Immaculate Conception (Saturday after Feria II and the Commemoration of St. Melichiades, PM)

Mass as on the feast on 8 December, with commemoration of the feria as on the preceding Sunday. The Saint is commemorated with the following collects. 

COLLECT

Eternal Shepherd, regard graciously thy flock, and keep it with an everlasting protection, by the intercession of blessed Melchiades, thy Martyr and Pope, whom thou hast constitued chief shepherd of the whole Church. Through.

SECRET

By the offered gifts we beseech thee, O Lord: en-lighten kindly thy Church: so that thy flock everywhere may be increasing, and the Shepherds, under thy direction, may be pleasing to thy Name. Through.

POSTCOMMUNION

O Lord, we beseech thee, graciously govern thy Church, which thou hast fed with a holy meal; so that, directed by a mighty wisdom, she may progress in liberty and persist in the integrity of faith. Through.
